Hispanic Heritage Month Main ImageSSW

In 1968, President Lyndon B. Johnson declared the week of September 15th Hispanic Heritage Week. It remained as such for almost 40 years until President George W. Bush changed it to span September 15th-October 15th ! There are tons of ways to include integrated literacy activities to celebrate and also use famous Hispanic Americans as role models for your students to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.

Some of my favorite activities are from Time for Kids. This is a great resource for elementary level kids! Head here for several articles and activities on Time for Kids! I have multiple pins related to cultural diversity and Hispanic Heritage Month on this Pinterest board.
